Slot Wars - Magic Piggy VS Keep ‘Em Cool

Hacksaw Gaming recently launched two amazing slots, both with piggies as the main protagonists. But while golden piggies in the Magic Piggy slot are busy making big wins, the adorable pink piggy in Keep ‘Em Cool is chilling on the beach. 

As you guessed, these two are rivals in the new episode of slot wars. Let’s see which piggy has what it takes to take the other down.

Magic Piggy slot takes place on a 5x5 grid with 19 paylines. It offers medium volatility gameplay and a big winning potential of up to 7,500x the bet. 

The same game layout is found in the Keep 'Em Cool slot where symbols spin on a 5x5 grid. However, there is a difference when it comes to the number of paylines as this slot uses cluster pays mechanics and offers a max prize of 5,000x the stake. 

When it comes to the return to the player percentage, both Hacksaw’s slots have the exactly same RTP of 96.16%. Due to a much higher winning percentage, the magic piggies take this round. 

The money-inspired title comes with two special symbols - Magic Piggy and a Magic Hat. Whenever a Magic Hat drop, it reveals either a Wild or Bill Stacks with a value of up to 1,000x the stake, which it transforms into, while also transforming all Magic Piggy symbols into the same symbols. 

With a reveal of Bill Stacks, there is also a chance a Magic Piggy reveals a Multiplier Coin instead. The same Bill Stack can be affected more than once by the same Multiplier Coin with up to 5x value or by different coins.

Landing 3 FS symbols in the base game triggers Pig Bonus with 10 free spins. During this round, Stars may land and add up to 5 points to the meter above their reel, as well as Super Stars that add up to 5 points to all reel meters. 

A number of Magic Piggy symbols equal to the reel meter value is added to random positions on the respective reels with the appearance of the Magic Hat on reels. Filling in all meters recharge the feature by adding additional 10 free spins to the count. 

If 4 FS symbols land together in the base game or during Pig Bonus, the Epig Bonus round with 10 free spins activates. This feature works the same way as the previous one, except that Piggy Points don’t reset after a Magic Hat hits. 

What makes the Keep 'Em Cool slot so cool are Frozen symbols. In this game, all symbols in view are in one of three states - unfrozen, half-frozen, or fully frozen. 

If a win occurs with a Cocktail Glass Scatter in view, all symbols of the winning type become fully frozen. This can happen to more than one symbol type at the same time. A number displayed on the Cocktail Glass represents the number of re-freezes it has left and the Scatter is removed after the final re-freeze.

Blender Scatters activates upon landing and picks one type of symbol to absorb.

At the end of the spin, the Blender awards a payout equal to the number of absorbed symbols according to the paytable values. 

 If 3 Picnic Basket Scatters land simultaneously, the Sunset Picnic bonus round is triggered. These Scatters are also collected in a meter by the grid upon appearance and each symbol reveals a number of 3 to 5 that added gives the total of awarded free spins. 

During the bonus feature, Cocktail Glasses and Blenders have a higher chance of landing, while hitting Picnic Basket symbols awards an additional 2 to 5 free spins per basket.

Theme-wise, Magic Piggy is a combination of money and luck themes. Spinning on reels, you’ll see lemons, cherries, horseshoes, plums, diamonds, Wilds and golden piggies.

While the graphics are superb, the design doesn’t offer anything new or exciting. It is a nice-looking slot, but not so interesting when it comes to visuals. 

On the contrary, the Keep ‘Em Cool slot is a mix of beach and fruit themes with quite striking visual appeal. The adorable piggy protagonist and animated waves in the background emphasize the chilled and relaxed atmosphere, while the design of the fruit symbols is spot on. 

This is why this game takes the win regarding both theme and overall visuals. While these games are products of the same provider, it seems like Hacksaw put a bit more thought into the design of this title.

Although the Keep ‘Em Cool slot is vibrant and quite easy on the eyes, that wasn’t enough to make it a winner of this episode of slot wars. Due to stronger bonus features and higher winning potential, the Money Piggy slot came victorious this time. All in all, both games are worthy of the player’s time, so don’t miss trying them out.
