Speaking of, the bonus round played on a 12x12-sized board with 144 squares is triggered with 3 or more Scatters landing simultaneously. The player get up to 16 dice rolls and is represented on a board by a monkey token, starting from square number one. 

Two dice are rolled per turn and the player moves around the board according to the number they show, exactly like in many board games. Squares are filled with randomly spread bet multipliers, total win multipliers, ladders, snakes, and bananas.

A square may have a hidden rope charmer, which, when landed on, the monkey is moved to an arbitrarily higher position on the board. When players make it to square 144 or there are no rolls left, the bonus round ends.

On the other hand, the bonus features in Santa’s Great Gifts slot aren’t that innovative. The tumbling feature is quite welcome, but the main attraction is multiplier symbols represented as green, blue, purple and red gifts. Able to land anywhere on the grid, these symbols display a random value of up to 100x when hit. 

During the bonus round with up to 20 free spins triggered by 4 or more Scatters, multiplier symbols are collected at the meter upon landing on a grid. At the set point, the round levels up and every new level reached increases the starting value of multipliers. Therefore, the last fourth level feature random multipliers from 50x to 100x. 

This game also comes with an Ante Bet option that increases the bet per spin by 25%, doubling the chance of triggering free spins. Bonus Buy is an option as well and it comes in 4 variations, depending on which level you want to start at in the bonus round. 

Although its rival doesn’t offer these features, it does have more interesting and different main bonus features. Due to the minimum win condition, it is potentially more rewarding, so Snakes&Ladders - Snake Eyes takes the win in this round as well. 

Compared to the first slot from the series, Snakes&Ladders - Snake Eyes has a bit more modernized graphics. The chunky 8-Bit thing is gone, giving the game a more refined look than they often have when Pragmatic Play teams up with Reel Kingdom. 

However, Santa's Great Gifts slot is a true representation of the provider’s style and recognizable design. It is the true winter fairytale that awakes the holiday spirit at first sight. While the superb level of graphics and animation is present in both games, the Christmas fantasy on reels is the winner of this round.

Snakes&Ladders - Snake Eyes is the winner of this episode of slot wars, mostly due to its originality as it isn’t that common to see slot gameplay intertwine with board game. Still, that doesn’t mean that Santa’s Great Gifts should be overlooked as it is one of the best Christmas-themed slots for this year thanks to its big winning potential and great features.
