But here’s the twist: while the new LOK regime raises the ante, it may also make Curaçao more valuable than ever. For serious operators, especially those in crypto gaming, the new framework offers something the old system struggled to provide - international credibility.

But for many small and mid-sized operators, Curaçao remains one of the most commercially attractive jurisdictions in the iGaming world.

The answer depends on the operator. For underfunded brands looking for the cheapest possible licence, the new LOK regime may feel like the house edge just got sharper. Higher fees, stronger AML controls, staffing expectations, and player protection rules all make Curaçao less accessible than before.

But for serious operators, the new framework could be a jackpot. It offers a clearer legal structure, stronger international credibility, crypto compatibility, tax efficiency, and a regulatory identity that payment providers and partners may take more seriously.
